Introduction :

a. The basement: The basement is welded of steel pipe and plate. On the front part of the top, there are three screens, the screen is fixed with wheels, it is very easy to push the screen move to and fro, and there is a container to hold the finishing media under the screen. On the back part of the top, there are three water troughs to hold the dirty water, dirty water may be discharged into big water trough under the basement through the water valve. There are also four stands equipped with bearing to support the barrel.

b. Barrel: The three barrels are utterly separate with each other; each has its own motor, inverter and other parts. They work separately. The barrel is composed of a base, bottom plate and vessel, the vessel is fixed on the base, and the bottom plate is under the vessel and fixed on the shaft of the base. At connect place between vessel and bottom there is a steel circle, so the gap between the vessel and bottom could be as small as about 0.3mm. The motor is fixed on the same steel plate with the barrel, the motor drives the shaft and bottom plate running through V-belt under steel plate. There is a handle on the steel plate, work parts and media will be unloaded into the screen by pulling barrel turning 110 degrees. The barrel is lined with high wear-resisting Polyurethane.

Electric cabinet: It is on the right side over basement, the buttons on control panel control the work of all barrels separately.

3. Construction and working principle

2)  Operating principle

This machine has a separate electric control system for each barrel, the inverter makes the motor run in the range of 0~400r/min to meet the demands of different workpieces. The electrical diagram is listed in figure 1.

  1. Installation and adjustment

1)  Installation

  1. The machine must be mounted on a flat concrete floor; four feet touch the floor firmly.
  2. The motor winding, the magnetizing windings and the speed windings should be tested by 500 megameters, the insulation must be over 0.38 megohm, otherwise dry them.
  3. Make sure the earth wire is in good working condition before power is on, the bottom plate should run in an anticlockwise direction.

d. Test: This introduction and the introduction of the converter should be read carefully before the test.

2)  Adjustment

This machine may have some changes after long-distance transportation, so check and adjust it after installation.

  1. Check and test the gap between vessel and bottom plate with 0.3mm thick ruler or steel plate. If the gap is bigger, lose the six trough bolts evenly on the outside of vessel in an anticlockwise direction, then fasten the six inner-hexagonal bolts evenly on the outside of the vessel, check the gap again. If the gap is smaller, lose the inner-hexagonal bolts evenly and fasten trough bolts evenly, then fasten the inner-hexagonal bolts, check the gap again.

b. The adjustment of V-belt: The V-belt may slip if it is too slack. Take off the belt cover, lose bolts that fixing motor and move motor till the belt is tight, and fasten the bolts to fix motor at last.

  1. Check all bolts on the machine once after some time.

6. Operation and maintenance

1)  Operation

a. Check the gap between the bottom plate and barrel before working, if there are any foreign matters, clean it at once. Check the tightness of the V-belt.

b. In rough grinding, the ratio of workpieces and media is about 1:2 to 1:3 according to different material work part within the working capacity. In precision processing, the ratio is about 1:3 to 1:5. Add some compound and water at the same time, the water should be 2—3mm higher than workpieces and media.  This machine can’t polish the sharp-edge workpieces such as a knife.

Start the motor, turn the speed button to working speed. During the process, the speed can be changed within the speed range without stopping the machine.

If the water is dirty, the open valve on the bottom of the barrel to discharge it, then close valve, add water and compound without stopping the machine.

When the polish is over, open the valve to discharge dirty water, then stop the machine, turn over the barrel 110 degree to unload the work parts and media into the screen. Pull the screen to and fro to separate media and work part.

2)  Maintenance

  1. The workpieces should be degreased before the polish process to increase efficiency and protect the lined polyurethane.
  2. Check often the gap between the bottom plate and barrel and adjust the gap three times every month, if there is any foreign matter, clean it away.
  3. Add about 15 grams ZL-3 calcium lubricant to bearing on the main shaft after it works for 500 hours.

d. If the abnormal noise appears for more than 5 minutes in operation, check all bolts and bearings, tighten the loose bolts and change the damaged bearings.
