Triple-Action Barrel Movement
The olive-shaped barrel is also described as a triple-action barrel. Its shape promotes axial folding of the load as well as the sliding and tumbling action associated with a rotary barrel machine.
The combined movement can be assessed for the required deburring, smoothing, or polishing operation. Cycle time and surface quality depend on the workpiece, media, compound, load, and machine settings; a barrel shape alone does not establish a fixed speed advantage.
