RKP is a resin-bonded plastic medium for mass finishing. It can be evaluated for deburring and smoothing softer metal parts, including aluminum and brass, and for surface preparation before further finishing. Select the formulation, shape and size around the workpiece and the required result.

Review the Application
Surface preparation before painting, plating or another finishing stage starts with an agreed acceptance standard. Define the burr condition and required surface texture rather than specifying shine alone. Review RKP as part of the proposed process and confirm the result before production.
Plastic media combines abrasive particles with a resin binder. The abrasive formulation and the operating conditions influence cutting action, surface texture and wear. A lower-density medium may be useful for delicate workpieces, but part geometry and the complete process still need to be assessed.
Choose the Shape and Size
Consider holes, slots, threads and recesses as well as the main external surfaces. Check the risk of media lodging and the requirements of the separation system. As media wears, its dimensions change, so the selection should also account for how it will be screened or replaced during use.
Confirm the Process on Samples
Define the required burr condition, surface finish and dimensional limits before evaluating samples. Review machine loading, compound compatibility, water flow where applicable and processing time together. Inspect critical features and possible part-to-part contact during trials. Establish production conditions from the agreed result.
Review rinsing, drying and any later coating or plating stage alongside the finishing operation. Agree on the required surface condition and check representative samples against it.
